Clear by Design: How Olympic Glass Put Fleet Confidence Back on the Road
Olympic Glass has been building a reputation for quality for more than 30 years. From its site at Queenborough in Kent, the business manufactures and processes high-performance glass, float, toughened, laminated, solar control, delivering to glaziers, commercial contractors, and residential projects across Kent, Sussex, and London. With 98 staff and around 8,000 units shipped every week, keeping its delivery fleet running reliably and safely is not a side consideration. It is central to how the business operates.
It is a company that invests in doing things properly. In 2025, it committed £2.2m to state-of-the-art Austrian production machinery, tripling output capacity and cutting water consumption by up to 70%. When it came to fleet management, the same standard was expected, and for a period, it was not being met.

The Challenge
Lee Jenkins, Transport Manager at Olympic Glass, had been working with a camera and fleet management system that was creating more problems than it solved. Persistent reliability issues and poor performance were making it difficult to maintain the fleet oversight the role demands.
"The ongoing faults were creating operational challenges and making it difficult to effectively monitor our fleet," Lee explains. "We needed a reliable system that would support our daily operations without constant issues."
The ask was straightforward: a camera and fleet management system that worked as intended, every time, and gave the team genuine confidence in the information being presented.
The Solution
Working with Fleet Trak, Olympic Glass's telematics partner in Kent, the decision was made to move to MANTIS. Twelve MANTIS 6 multi-camera units were installed across the fleet, with the final units commissioned in early 2026.
The MANTIS 6 delivers multi-angle camera coverage across each vehicle, recording continuously and feeding into the RECON platform, giving Lee instant access to any vehicle, from anywhere, at any time.

The Impact
The difference was immediate. Camera quality alone was a step change from the previous system, something drivers noticed as much as the management team.
"The feedback from drivers has been very positive," says Lee. "They find the camera quality much clearer than the previous system, which helps them while they are out on the road."
From an operational standpoint, Lee now has the fleet visibility that changes how the job works. Vehicle access is instant: "I can view a vehicle within seconds, being able to view a vehicle regardless of its location is a powerful tool from a fleet monitoring perspective."
Driver behaviour reporting has become one of the most actively used features of the platform. RECON automatically flags events such as harsh braking, speeding, and aggressive cornering, and delivers email alerts with direct links to the relevant footage.
"The system sends email alerts with direct links to events, allowing me to quickly review footage, identify issues, and take immediate action when necessary," Lee explains. "The driver behaviour reporting is particularly valuable."
The effect on road behaviour has been tangible. Drivers are aware their standards are being monitored, and they have responded. Incidents of speeding, harsh braking, and aggressive cornering have reduced. More importantly, Lee now has the evidence to hold targeted, constructive conversations with individual drivers rather than broad, unsubstantiated concerns.
"The system has highlighted certain driving behaviours, allowing me to have constructive conversations with drivers. It has also increased awareness that driving standards are being monitored."
Beyond driver behaviour, RECON is used daily to verify that drivers are completing vehicle checks correctly, an important element of compliance and duty of care, and to monitor fuel stops as both a deterrent and an investigation tool for fuel theft concerns.
"These capabilities have made fleet management much easier," says Lee.
The cumulative result is a safety culture Lee describes as genuinely stronger: "The increased visibility and accountability have strengthened our overall safety culture."

The Verdict
Lee does not hedge when comparing RECON with what came before.
"In my experience, there is no comparison. MANTIS has outperformed our previous system in every area, from reliability and camera quality to usability and reporting."
Jonny Wiggins, Director of Sales at Fleet Trak, has worked with Olympic Glass for several years and has seen the difference first-hand.
"Even in the short time it's been running, MANTIS has delivered exactly what Olympic Glass set out to achieve. Having supported Lee's fleet for several years, we knew reliability had to come first, and the results speak for themselves — safer driving behaviour, stronger accountability, and a Transport Manager who can genuinely see what's happening across his fleet in seconds. That's the standard we hold ourselves to with every customer."
For other fleet operators considering a similar switch, Lee's recommendation is direct: "If you are considering installing camera systems across your fleet, I would highly recommend MANTIS. The system is reliable, easy to use, and provides valuable insight into both fleet operations and driver behaviour."
Olympic Glass is based at Queenborough Business Park, Sheerness, Kent, ME11 5DY. MANTIS was installed via Fleet Trak, MANTIS's telematics partner in Kent and the South East.
