Castell Howell Foods: clearer visibility, stronger accountability, across a growing fleet

Castell Howell Foods is one of Wales' largest independent food wholesalers, running a large and growing delivery fleet across the region. Managing safety and risk at that scale is a different problem to managing it across a handful of vehicles — which is why the business turned to MANTIS, deployed through Geotab installation partner Smartfits, to bring real-time visibility to its operation.

Working with Smartfits, Castell Howell rolled out MANTIS RECON across its fleet earlier this year. The results came quickly: markedly improved fleet visibility within a short space of time, backed by real-time data through RECON rather than footage chased down after the fact.

Installation at scale

For Smartfits, the priority was making sure a rollout of this size didn't compromise on quality. Connected cameras, real fleet visibility

No matter where a vehicle is, the fleet should always be able to access footage and telemetry, and use it to be as insightful as possible.

The data backbone: Geotab

Underpinning the visibility layer is Geotab. Amanda Welland, Partner Account Manager at Geotab, describes the shift this kind of integration enables: fleet technology moving from reactive to predictive, with events processed in real time rather than reviewed after the fact. It's what lets MANTIS and Smartfits deliver evidence and insight that traditional camera solutions can't.
